Sunday Fun for Older Kids

Sunday Fun for Older Kids

Mythical beasts, Wizards, Astrosaurs in space! What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? Our Family Book Festival is better than ever this year! Definitely something for all tastes. We’ve got some really imaginative and interactive events for older kids too.

We’re going to meet the good wizard Aduro from the hugely popular Beast Quest series, he’s trying to free six mythical beasts that are guarding magical golden armour for the evil wizard Marvel, and you can help Aduro free the beasts from Marvel’s evil spell by solving cryptic puzzles!

Sunday also brings us Story Consequences, another interactive event! It involves four of our authors, Vivian French (the host) and panellists Steve Cole, Eleanor Updale and Jonathan Meres.  The idea is that the audience picks a topic and then each writer takes it in turns to move the story along – so thinking caps on please, and see what fun we can have on Sunday afternoon!

Steve Cole returns for our last Family Book Festival event of the weekend, Steve is the slightly crazy author of Astrosaurs, Cows in Action and Z-Rex among others. His event is sure to be fun filled and full of laughs; he’ll share some story writing tips and introduce his latest Astrsosaurs book, The Castle of Frankensaur: On a distant asteroid, Captain Teggs Stegosaur and the crew of the amazing spaceship DSS Sauropod discover the creepy castle hideout of super-scientist Dr Frankensaur. Soon the Astrosaurs are plunged into a sinister mystery, where deadly robots, headless horrors and mutant monsters lie in wait.....
