We have a recurring theme running its way through this year's festival - World War II. Come and listen to some great stories of the Second World War's most perilous operations and the individuals whose courage and ingenuity led to the Allied victory.
On Saturday we begin our WWII weekend, with master historian James Holland, in a Family Book Festival event DUTY CALLS: BATTLE OF BRITAIN, James will deliver a fascinating and interactive talk and you'll get a chance to get up close and personal to some WWII artefacts too! Ben Macintyre is up next. DOUBLE CROSS is the thrilling story of the D-Day spies and the web of deception the wove. James Holland is back at 7.45PM to talk to the adults - this time all about the amazing DAM BUSTERS. Sunday introduces us to James Owen and his book, COMMANDO: WINNING WWII BEHIND ENEMY LINES. The final WWII event of the weekend is brought to us by Christy Campbell and tell the compelling and dark tale of TARGET LONDON: UNDER ATTACK FROM THE V-WEAPONS. If you're a history buff, you're certainly in for a thrilling weekend!
